Yin Yang Branch
.
This theory dialectically describes every thing in the world as having contrary sides, and these contrary forces are interconnected and interdependent in the natural world.
For instance, the south of a mountain is regarded as Yang, similarly the north of a river, upper side of a leave, men and the sun. |
Conversely Yin refers to the north of a mountain, south of a river, reverse side of a leave, women, and the Moon.

Dark half represents Yin while Light half represents Yang.
|
As can be seen from the Yin-Yang symbol, when the yang energy is at the peak time, the yin energy will gradually show up. It is a profound philosophy underlying the fact that things or situations at their worse will mend and improve for the better. Many branches of traditional Chinese medicine and philosophy adopted the Yin Yang theory as their primary guidelines.
|
In other words, the Yin-Yang Principle is based on the premise of duality in nature and all creations. They are opposing forces or energies that are constantly moving, and transforming into one another. There is no complete Yin or Yang situation or permanent state of matter. It changes when circumstances, conditions, and/or other determinants change. Everything comprises both polarities in varying measures; and, yet, in equilibrium.
Yin and yang are also symbolized by the tiger and dragon. |
Yin governs the Earth
and all that are negative. Yang derives from Heaven and represents all that are positive. |
Yin Yang Principle and Chinese MedicineVisceral organs, channels and collaterals have Yin and Yang sides. The upper part of the body is assigned to Yang, while the lower part to Yin. Health is based on the balance of Yin and Yang. Yin vacuity is represented by heat sensation, dry mouth, night sweats, dark urine, etc; while the Yang imbalance will result in cold limbs, slow pulse, bright white complexion, etc.
|
An excess of Yin energy can lead to fatigue, depression and apathy. Excess Yang energy, on the other hand, can cause anxiety, headaches and irritability.
Pure Yin would not have life, and pure Yang would not have growth. Skilled Feng Shui practices facilitate a healthy balance of Yin and Yang in any situation. |
