The principles of Xuan Kong began with the Qing Nang Jing 青囊經 given to Zhang Liang 張良 by Huang Shi Gong 黄石公 during the reign of Qin Shi Huang 秦始皇 (259 BC - 210 BC). The technique of the flying stars is well explained in the classics Xuan Kong Mi Zhi 玄空秘旨,Xuan Ji Fu 玄機赋, Fei Xing Fu 飛星赋. They were all published during the Song Dynasty 宋朝 (960-1279).

Feng Shui Grandmaster Jiang Da Hong is the authority on Flying Stars Feng Shui. He taught extensively about Yang houses, but it was Grandmaster Shen Zhu Ren who interpreted and made popular Grandmaster Jiang's teachings through his book, Shen Shi Xuan Kong Xue 申施禤孔学.

For this school, the year of one's house or building being built is very important in drawing up a Flying Stars chart for the house or building. An accurate compass reading of the facing of the house is vital too. The most difficult practice is to identify the CORRECT facing direction of the house. A floor-plan drawn to scale is important. Next, one has to determine the centre of the house, and divide it into eight compass directions.
|
When combined with the Form Feng Shui School, practitioners can interpret many things about the house or building, and its occupants by looking at the features both inside and outside the house or building.
