Celestial CreaturesPractitioners study the site of a house, building or burial grave for the location of the Four Celestial Creatures. It is basically concerned with connecting one's body and soul to the environment that one stays, works or to be buried in.
These celestial creatures or " Siling " are the Red Bird or Red Phoenix, the Black Tortoise, the Green Dragon and the White Tiger. Believers need Chinese Astrology and Feng Shui knowledge to understand the names and colours of the creatures. They are imaginary creatures to represent the positions of importance to a house, building or burial site. It is believed that beneficial energy is created at an ideal site which attracts good fortune for the occupants or their descendants. The good energy can be passed on to the offsprings when a house, building or burial site is located within a perfect arrangement of the 4 celestial creatures. The facing of the house, building or burial site must also be correct. |
Yin Feng ShuiAn ideal Yin Feng Shui site must have all of the following features:
|
Yang Feng ShuiThe Yang Feng Shui for a building or a house actually borrows the concept of the Four Celestial Creatures from Yin Feng Shui.
The Red Bird or Red Phoenix is the area located at the front of a building or house. It should be a flat, open space, bright and neat. The Green Dragon is located to the left of a building or a house when you face outward as you stand in front of the structure. The Green Dragon provides Yang Energy which enhances good health. The White Tiger is located on the opposite side. If the White Tiger is too strong, it will bring Yin Energy to the house which will give ill-health. The female occupants of the house will, however, be stronger and more powerful. The Black Tortoise is located at the rear of a building or house. It symbolizes a tower of strength behind you, supporting you and protecting you. Never build any big object in the middle of the Red Bird or Phoenix area. It creates a so- called Sickness Mountain. |
Poison Arrows and CuresPoison Arrows or Sha Chi are generally regarded as bad energy. However, Poison Arrows can be good in some situation. Some businesses can use Poison Arrow to improve their performance.
|
Lions can be placed outside a building or house for protection, especially if there is a Poison Arrow or Sha Chi ( bad energy ) pointing towards it. There are a few types of lion. Normally, the one placed on the right-hand side ( looking outward to the street from the house ) is female. The male lion should be placed on the left-hand side. The female lion holds a lion calf while the male lion holds a ball. Stone lions can be used to guard against evil entering the house. However, such features can only be used for high-ranking officials only.
